Austin police had received a memo from the Albert Lea Police Department stating that McKee had been acting suspicious outside of businesses in Albert Lea. The vehicle in his driveway matched the description Albert Lea provided.

When deputies arrived at McKee’s home, he initially refused to come out and speak with officers. A search warrant was obtained and McKee was arrested.

Sheriff Terese Amazi said the case is still being investigated, but the man will be charged in the burglaries at Austin businesses.

McKee allegedly stole a small amount of cash from Superfresh, an undisclosed amount of cash from Austin Aquatics and more than $2,000 in cash and charitable gambling proceeds at Echo Lanes in the last few weeks.
