A 38-year-old Austin man is facing several criminal charges after allegedly rolling his vehicle while intoxicated early New Years Day.
Juan Irlas, Jr., could see charges of criminal vehicle operation injury, second-degree DWI refusal, third-degree DWI, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and driving after revocation.
The rollover took place near Skinner’s Hill around 2 a.m. Jan. 1. When officers arrived, Irlas was not at the scene, but police discovered he was at a nearby residence.
Irlas had cuts and abrasions around his head and on his arms and had a blood alcohol content of .15 at the time of the crash.
Police Chief Brian Krueger said Irlas was “not cooperative with officers.” The man did not receive medical treatment and is being held in the Mower County Jail pending court.
