The Austin Bruins couldn’t get it done on special teams in a 4-1 loss at Owatonna (9-7 overall) Thursday.
The Express scored on both of their power plays on the night and they converted a shorthanded goal to take a 2-0 lead early in the first.
Austin (6-9 overall) made it a 2-1 game on that powerplay when Mike Adamowicz, a forward from Chandler, Ariz., scored his third goal of the season.
But Owatonna scored two power play goals in the second half of the second period to ice the game.
Keegan Asmundson stopped 31 of the 35 shots he saw in net.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Bruins, who will travel to Coulee Region for games on Friday and Saturday night.
