Arthur E. Maloney, 93

Arthur E. Maloney, age 93, of Spring Valley died Thursday November 11th, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Dec. 6, 1916, in Spring Valley to Dennis and Hazel (Gahagen) Maloney. He attended and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1933 at age 16 and was united in marriage to Florence Smith on Feb. 28, 1941, in Preston Arthur was a farmer for 40 years. He then retired from farming to become a Real Estate Broker for 10 years. He enjoyed gardening, politics and was especially proud of his Irish Heritage.

He is survived by his very special friend Eileen Churchill, Spring Valley; his son: Dan (Phyllis) Maloney, Rochester and daughters: Marilyn “Jeni” Maloney of Fridley and Kay ( Roger) Bender, Sparta, Wis.; four grandchildren: Michelle Maloney, Scott (Nancy) Maloney, Jackie Bender and James (Pieterke) Bender, one great grandchild: Olivia Grace Maloney, one sister: Myra (John) Humphrey, Oconomowoc, Wis., and his sister-in-law: Millie (Mrs Fay Maloney), Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Florence in 1990, infant son and siblings Don, Owen, Fay, Michael, Emily, Kate and Agnes.

Funeral services for Arthur will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 16, 2010, at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley with the Rev. Mark Rader officiating. Burial will take place at the Etna cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday Nov. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley and one prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
