A 31-year-old Adams man was arrested by gunpoint Tuesday afternoon for allegedly shoplifting $123 of merchandise from the Austin Wal-Mart.
An Austin police officer was patrolling the area near The Oaks Condominiums when he saw a Wal-Mart loss prevention employee waving his arms.

The officer found Marty Morrison crouched in a grove of pine trees between The Oaks and Wal-Mart and ordered him to lay on his stomach and put his hands over his head. The officer apprehended Morrison by gunpoint because he couldn’t see if Morrison was armed in the trees.
Upon searching Morrison, the officer discovered he was carrying a pair of brass knuckles.
Morrison took a digital hard drive, cell phone and an iPod charger from the store.
Wal-Mart employees said Morrison had attempted to flush the evidence of his loot down the toilet in the store bathroom.
Morrison, who is a convicted felon, was cited for misdemeanor shoplifting and misdemeanor possession of brass knuckles.
