BLOOMING PRAIRIE — The Awesome Blossoms were doing a lot of chasing against United South Central, and they never did catch up.

USC (10-6 overall) led throughout the night as it topped Blooming Prairie’s volleyball team by scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-14 Thursday.

“We got some swings, we just weren’t real organized and a good team will do that to you. But we missed a number of serves and that’s not a good thing,” BP head coach Gina McLaughlin said. “We just kind of sprayed the ball in serve receive and they were playable balls.”

BP fell behind 3-0 in game one, 5-0 in game two, and 9-2 in game three as the Rebels’ hitters had there way up front.

When USC wasn’t putting down kills, it’s back row was making some big digs on defense.

“It’s tough on a hitter when you get blocked and then when you get a good cut, they dig it in the back row,” McLaughlin said. “I give USC a ton of credit, but our girls didn’t play their best ball.”

BP stats: Kristin Hagen, 9 kills, 1 block, 4 digs, 1 ace; Whitney Burt, 7 kills, 6 digs; Yasmine Smith, 5 kills, 1 block, 1 ace; Marissa Noble, 20 assists; Allyson, 3 blocks, 4 digs, 1 ace; Janelle Morem, 2 kills, 5 digs; Kierstin Wencl, 2 aces; Maggie Sorensen, 1 ace
