Ralph Fredrick Goergen, 90, of Adams, MN died Oct. 23, 2010.

Ralph Goergen was born May 8, 1920, to Joseph and Johanna (Koenigs) Goergen on the family farm. On June 10, 1944, Ralph married Kathryn Seidlinger at Queen of Angles Catholic Church in Austin, MN. Ralph farmed the family farm until his retirement in 1987. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, morning coffee with friends, bowling, golfing, attending church and going to family events. Ralph was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Stacyville, Adams Co-op Elevator Board, Adams Rural Fire Board, Johnsburg Choir, Johnsburg Johnnies Baseball team, Knights of Columbus, Adams Farm Bureau, Adams Lions Club and also served as an Adams Township Officer.

Ralph is preceded in death by his daughter Jane, son William, daughter-in-law Barbara, parents and 10 siblings.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Goergen, Austin, daughters: Mary (LuWayne) Kenyon, Austin; Lucy (Bob) Johnson, Austin; Rita (Doug) Groh, Austin; sons: Tom Goergen, Bloomington, Minn.; Tony (Nadine) Goergen, Rochester; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Johnsburg, MN with Father Thomas Loomis officiating. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Adams Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. There will be a 4 p.m. Rosary and a 7:30 p.m. Prayer Service at the Adams Funeral Home on Tuesday evening.
