Mankato East sweeps Packers

The Austin volleyball team showed some good signs but was swept 25-18, 25-8, 27-25 by Mankato East (12-9 overall) in Packer Gym Tuesday.
The Packers (2-14 overall, 0-7 Big Nine) led early in the first game, but couldn’t hold on. The second game was competitive until the Cougars closed it on a strong run.

“We were a whole lot more aggressive tonight than we were against Mayo last week. We played a lot faster paced game,” Austin head coach Darica Schneider said. “We seemed to rally and we had more long volleys than I’ve seen in a long time.”
