Harry LeRoy Page, Jr., 62 of Austin, died at his home Thursday morning, Oct. 21, 2010.
He was born Oct. 26, 1947, to Harry and Hilda (Rudlong) Page in Austin, Minnesota where he grew up. Baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Harry graduated from Austin High School in 1965 and attended the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State College at Mankato, graduating in 1969 with degrees in psychology and political science. Later that year Harry was hired by Hormel Foods Corporation in Research and Development. He married Judy Smith on Sept. 12, 1970 at St. Olaf Church. They had two children and were later divorced. Harry retired in 2009 after 40 years with Hormel Foods. A member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Eagles, he loved fishing, golfing, watching sports, cooking, reading, music and his dogs.
Survivors include his son, Joey (Rachel) Page of Eagan; daughter, Kimberlee (Daniel) Strickland of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; special friend, Vickie Severtson; six grandchildren, Ella, Sajon, Delilah, Coltrane, Logan and Lyric; sisters, Rochelle Jensen of Austin, Betty (Marvin) Hartwig of Owatonna, Janice Duncan of Austin, Patti Page of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and four sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service. The family prefers memorials to the Hormel Institute or Mower County Humane Society.
