Alice Otellia Tiegen, 94, died Oct, 19, 2010, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.

Alice Otellia Erickson was born on July 6, 1916, the daughter of Martin Brown and Agnes (Amundson) Erickson in Olmsted County. Alice was united in marriage to Glenn O. Tiegen on June 18, 1938, at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She taught school for three years. Alice and Glenn owned Tiegen’s Shopping Center in Oslo. Alice was the bookkeeper and also a clerk at the store. She enjoyed traveling, ladies aid, teaching Sunday school, embroidering on dish towels, gardening and flowers.

Alice is survived by her children: Dale (Jo Ann) Tiegen, Hayfield; Marilyn (Russell) Skov, Hayfield; Bruce (Janet) Tiegen, Bemidji; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1989; one grandson; one brother and one sister.

The funeral service for Alice Otellia Tiegen will be 11a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at West St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 70640 260th Avenue, Hayfield, with Reverend Darby Lawrence officiating. Interment will be in West St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW, Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
