Robert Henry Gerber, 87, of Adams died Saturday Sept. 18th, 2010 at the Adams Health Care Center.

Robert was born April 3, 1923 in Adams, the son of John and Martha (Blonigan) Gerber. He attended country school in rural Adams. Robert was married to Margaret Anna Retterath at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Nov. 24, 1942. They farmed in the Adams area. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gerald (Dorothy) Gerber, Adams; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (John) Garvey, Wayzata; Cindy (John) Thomas, Lake City; daughter-in-law, Marlys Gerber, Adams; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur (Jurine) Gerber, Austin; Jerome (Darlene) Gerber, Adams; Lawrence Gerber, Stewartville; Rosella Gerber, Austin; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; son, Richard Gerber; brother, Ray Gerber, and sisters: Florence Fasbender and Serelda Kramer.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22nd, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father Thomas Loomis officiating. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be a 4:30 p.m. Rosary and a 7:45 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday evening.
