Louise Katherine Eich, 98, died Monday, morning Aug. 9, 2010, at her home in Hayfield, Minn.

Louise Katherine Buelt was born on Aug. 29, 1911, in Roselle, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Emma (Soppe) Buelt. She attended school at Holy Angels School in Roselle, Iowa. She was united in marriage to William Eich on Jan. 20, 1932, in Roselle, Iowa. Louise and her husband farmed in Templeton, Iowa, Roselle, Iowa, and Blooming Prairie, Minn. Louise was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield and served on the Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women. She had worked as housekeeper at Field Crest Care Center. Louise enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and crocheting.

Louise is survived by her children, Darlene (William) Timmerman, of Rochester, Minn, Virginia Hoffmann, of Osakis, Minn., Dennis (Lorraine) Eich, of Houston, Minn., Lynn (Mary) Eich, of Preston, Minn., LuAnn (James) Hahn, of Fairmont, Minn., Sandra Johnson, of Hayfield, Minn.; 32 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Marie) Buelt, of Crescent, Iowa; and one sister, Bernice Hinz, of Fonda, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William A. Eich; one daughter, Marilyn Eich; two sons, LaVern and Eugene Eich; two grandsons, Anthony Johnson and Alan Hoffman, and son-in-law, Dale Hoffman.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Friday. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield, Minn., with Rev. Douglas Gits celebrating. Interment will be at Saint Columbanus Cemetery in Blooming Prairie, Minn. on Friday.
