David Norman Haskin, 76, of Tustin, Calif. died Aug. 14 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.
Dave was born in Austin, Minn. to Charles and Bernice Haskin. He graduated from Austin High School in 1952.
Dave’s life was full-he always put his family first, and his friendly manner and unique sense of humor endeared him to many. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially his own beautiful backyard where his family and friends spent many happy hours. Although Dave and his immediate family moved from Austin in 1963, he always considered it “home”, and Austin was where so many of his “good old days” took place.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ardy (Arens), and his children: Kim (Haskin) and John Ryan, Bennet, Neb., Scott Haskin, Karin Haskin, and Troy Haskin, all of Tustin, Calif. His grandchildren are Amy (Ryan) and Josh Wheatley, Kyle and Jenny Ryan, and Cody Haskin. Other relatives include his brother and sister-in-law Dale and Nancy Haskin of Banks, Ore. and family, sister Phyllis Conklin of Ellendale, Minn. and family, sister-in- law Linda Wagner of Kenosha, Wis. and family, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Terry Hall of San Juan Capistrano, Calif. and family. His beloved aunt, Norma Zellinger lives in Wyoming, Mich.
Dave’s wishes were no services. A memorial gathering in his honor will be held at a later date.
