Lyle Demmer

Lyle Demmer, 78, of Blooming Prairie died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at his home.
Lyle was born March 5, 1932, in rural New Richland, Minn., to William and Lillian Demmer. He grew up there and later moved to the Hartland area. Lyle married Mary Sybilrud on April 27, 1952. He joined the military and served for two years. He moved to Hayfield and was in the John Deere business for 36 years. He later farmed with his sons.
He was past Commander of the Hayfield American Legion. He enjoyed his grandchildren and his John Deere tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Demmer of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; daughter, Pamela (John) Young of San Juan, Puerto Rico; sons, Gregory (Lynette) Demmer of Hayfield, Minn., and Steven (Rebecca) Demmer of Hayfield, Minn.; six grandchildren, Angela of McKinleyville, Calif., Michael of Townsend, Del., Matthew (Karis sa) of Altomonte Springs, Fla., Luke of Hayfield, Minn., Jordan of Hayfield, Minn., and Paige of Hayfield, Minn. He also leaves behind two brothers, David of Owatonna, Minn., and Boyd (Dorothy) of Faribault, Minn.; three sisters, Verdelle (Philip) Hansen of Clarks Grove, Minn., Arlyss (Dick) Haug of Clarks Grove, Minn., and DeVonna (Gerald) Olson of Amery, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Doreen; a granddaughter, Ashley; three brothers and three sisters.
The memorial service will be held Monday, July 12, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, 104 First St. SE, with Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Hayfield, with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes in Hayfield, 501 Second St. NW, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
