“We’re starting to play a little better and we’re getting geared up for the playoffs (which start Aug. 8),” Hounds manager John Frein said.

Against Bemidji, the Hounds scored six runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth to break open a 2-1 game.

Austin hammered out 14 hits in the win as Adam Hemann, who now has a 2.70 ERA in four appearances, picked up his second win of the season on the mound.

“Adam did a great job on the hill,” Frein said.
