Patty and Bill Schmidt of Austin announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan, to Jamie Larson, son of Deb Wehrhan of Austin and Doug Larson of Woodbury, Minn.

Megan is a 2002 graduate of Austin High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Minnesota. She is currently employed by the University of Minnesota and is working toward a master’s degree in molecular biology.

Jamie is a 1997 graduate of Woodbury High School. He is employed by Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis and is pursuing an accounting degree from Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

An Aug. 14 wedding is planned at the Hormel Historic Home. The couple resides in northeast Minneapolis.
