Bruce Kvam

Bruce W. Kvam, 62, of Austin, died Monday July 26, 2010, at his home, surrounded by those that loved him. 
Bruce was born April 3, 1948, in Austin, the son of Martin and Elizabeth (Hall) Kvam. A lifelong Austin resident, Bruce was a Vietnam War veteran, a member of the V.F.W. and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked as a painter. Bruce liked to travel, “chewing up the highway,” taking road trips and enjoying the scenery. He enjoyed music, painting, mechanics, and welding. He attended International Word Fellowship. He adored his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Evangeline (Roger) Pettitt of Zimmerman;  two grandchildren, Tristan and Julia; three brothers, Robert (Rosemary) Kvam, of Lyle, Melvin (Diane) Kvam and Dale Kvam, both of Austin; one sister, Marie Kvam, of Indianola, Iowa; special friend, Ed Grap, of Isle, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Elizabeth Kvam.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Rev. Ray Tuck officiating. Interment will be Friday, July 30, 2010, at noon at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis with military honors. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Worlein Funeral Home.  
The family prefers memorials to the church of donor’s choice or to the Disabled American Veterans.
