Vernon C. Johnson, 89, of Rose Creek, Minn., formerly of Minooka, Ill., died Thursday, June 25, 2010, at the Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minn.
Vernon C. Johnson was born in Kendall County, Ill., on Jan. 18, 1921, to Samuel and Alma (Olson) Johnson. He married Anna Henry on April 18, 1942. After serving in World War II, he managed Minooka Grain, Lumber and Supply in Minooka,Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Alma Johnson; and his siblings, Alfred Johnson, Ardella Johnson and Ervin Johnson
Vernon is survived by his wife, Anna Johnson of Rose Creek, Minn.; daughter, Sandy (Larry) Yunker of Rose Creek, Minn.; son, Terry (Jill) Johnson of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Trey (Alyssa) Marlow of Morris, Ill., Jennifer (Kevin) Chose of Rose Creek, Minn., Josh (Emily) Marlow of Minooka, Ill., Andy Johnson of Tucson, Ariz., Carrie Johnson of Tucson, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Ryan Marlow, Morgan Marlow, McKenzie Marlow, Cecilia Marlow and Cash Marlow; sister-in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Lisbon Center, Ill.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Minooka Bible Church with Pastor Dave Jenkowski officiating. Burial will be at Plattville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may greet the family for one hour before the service at the church.
