Rebels bow out with sixth place finish at state baseball tournament

The Southland baseball team allowed four runs in the top of the seventh team as it had to settle for sixth place when it lost to Adrian at the Class ‘A’ state baseball consolation round in Jordan Friday.

Adrian (25-3 overall) had 11 batters come to the plate in the seventh inning and two runs scored after there were two outs.

The Rebels (22-6 overall) took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the second when Mitch Heimer had a sacrifice fly and Trevor Emanuel hit a two-out, two-run home run to center field.

Chris May took the loss as he pitched six innings after pitching in stints of both games on Thursday.
