The Austin football team has already begun work on what should be an active summer.
The Packers have had 72 high school players practicing from June 7-11 and they will go again on June 14-17 at Wescott Field from 5:15 p.m. 7 p.m.
The team will head to the North Dakota State University camp on June 18-21.
“The players are working very hard and have already shown a great deal of progress,” Austin head coach Matt Schmit said. “Players are starting to take a leadership role on the field and in the weight room. The community has come out to watch practice and many others have offered their support in the program.”
Summer weight lifting will be available to any AHS student Monday, Wednesday and Friday on June 7-30 and July 12-30 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and the team will hold its min-camp July 26-30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for all high school players.
The squad’s fourth through ninth grade camp will be held Aug. 9-13 from 10 a.m. to noon and midnight madness will be held Aug. 16 at 12:01 a.m.
