Melinda Mitchell

Melinda J. (Stanbro) Mitchell, 56, passed away due to a massive stroke June 7, at General Hospital in Dothan, Ala.
Melinda J. Mitchell was born in Charles City, Iowa, to Charles and Helen (Lappin) Stanbro on Nov. 4, 1953. They were later divorced.
She graduated from LeRoy High School in 1972 and then served in the Navy from 1973 to 1976 and then met and married Ronald Mitchell. They made their home in Dothan, Ala. and had two daughters, Ilesha (Cory) Shiver and Lani Mitchell, and one granddaughter, Tea’.
For the most part she was a stay-at-home mother and helped raise another child, Tiffany, whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her parents, Helen (Norbert) Gerber of LeRoy, Minn. and Charles (Sandy) Stanbro of Charles City, Iowa; one brother, Craig (Linda) Stanbro; one sister, Colleen (Bruce) Lein; a step-brother, Kevin (Joanne) Stanbro; a step-sister, Leesa (Barry) Seims; two half-sisters, Denise (Larry) Hall and Mitchelle (Robert) Marion; and one half-brother, Chuck (Deb) Stanbro.
The body was cremated. There will be no services.
