Joan Mucha

Joan M. Mucha, 82, of Austin and formerly of Winona, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
Joan Marcella was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Winona to Lyle and Hilda (Stensland) Tainter. She graduated from Winona Senior High School. She was formerly married to Norman Pearson and she later married James Mucha on Sept. 22, 1975 and he preceded her in death July 30, 1999.
Joan is survived by a daughter, Judith (Tom) Kropiwka of Rochester, Minn.; two grandchildren, Brian Kropiwka and Amy Kay (Jason) Dumais; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica Marie and Ashley Kay; three sisters, Doris Laska of Winona, Norma McNally of Houston, Minn. and Gloria Ties of Winona; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Louise (Ray) Freund.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona with the Rev. Mark Neithhammer, pastor of Cedar Valley Lutheran Church, officiating.
