Funeral services for Elaine Marie Ziebell, age 73, of Myrtle, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Reuben Unseth and the Rev. Ronald Myers will officiate. Interment will be at the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Elaine died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at her home.
Elaine Marie Ziebell was born on Aug. 9, 1936, in Nunda Township of Freeborn County to Earl and Marie (Passer) Monson. She lived in the Emmons and Albert Lea areas before moving to Austin in 1951, graduating from Austin High School in 1954. Elaine married George R. Ziebell in Austin on Sept. 23, 1956, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. The couple made their home in the Myrtle area. Elaine was an active member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in London, Minn., She loved the Lord, her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very devoted to them.
Survivors include her husband, George; children, Steven Ziebell of Myrtle, Kevin (Carole) Ziebell of Lewiston, Pauline (Lyle) Flugum of Glenville, and Peter Ziebell of Myrtle; grandchildren, Japheth (Ashley) Ziebell, Joel (Amanda) Ziebell, Alicyn Ziebell, Jennifer and Robert (Lacy) Flugum; great-grandchildren, Tristan Stevens, Emily Olsen and Malachi Flugum; brothers, Duane (Rosemary) Monson of Rochester and Michael (Sheryl) Monson of Austin; sister, Marlene Monson of Roseville; aunts, Carma Buendorf and Arline Monson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elaine was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents, Earl and Marie Monson; and grandson, Jonathan Flugum.
