A segment of Main Street will be blocked off — from Second Avenue to Fourth Avenue Northwest — from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Saturday sale.

Owner of Main Street’s Piggy Blues Bar-B-Que Josh Diaz said the community event is in at least its eighth year.

When: 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday

Where: 306 Second St. NW

For: To benefit a high school mission trip to Galveston, Texas

“The public can come out and sell what they want to sell. It’s a fun day,” he said

Vendors must bring their own table(s). There is a $5 fee for those who register in advance, $10 for those who register the day of the sale. Set up for vendors begins at 8 a.m.

Lou Beckel, who owns Lou’s Forever Framing, 317 Main St., said community members can bring multiple tables if they have a lot to sell.

Registration proceeds benefit the business association’s non-profit community events.

Also on Saturday — and only a couple blocks from the Main Street sale — St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 306 Second St. NW, holds a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon to benefit a high school mission trip to Galveston, Texas, where students will work on homes that were destroyed by hurricanes.
