Sponsored by the city, the Wednesday evening concerts run throughout the month of June and are free to the public.

The band’s director Brian Koser said the concerts will feature a variety of music ranging from classic favorites, to overtures to familiar marches.

The band is comprised of 35 local musicians who rehearse together once a week.

“This is just a neat opportunity for the musicians to perform, and for the citizens of Austin to be outside for an hour or so to enjoy the great weather and listen to a good ol’ fashioned outdoor concert,” Koser said in a news release.

The Austin Community Band holds five concert programs from April through June, leading up to the July 4 Freedom Fest celebration.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on; some picnic tables are available.
