Three RCC baseball players honored

The Riverland Community College baseball team had three players named to the All-MCAC Southern Division Team and two named to the All-State team recently.
Brian Voigt and Kyle Young were named to the All-State team and All-Division Team and Shawn Pape was named to the All-Division Team.
Voigt, a sophomore from Southland, was 7-3 with four saves on the mound with an ERA of 1.97. He struck out 56 in 59.1 innings, while allowing 56 hits and 20 walks.
Voigt, who also played shortstop, hit a school-record 16 homers, while hitting .470 with 17 doubles, 7 triples, 59 RBIs, and 54 runs.
Young, a freshman outfielder from Forest Lake, hit .399 with 12 home runs, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 57 RBIs and 53 runs.
Pape, a sophomore outfielder from Winona, hit .452 with six home runs, 14 doubles, 4 triples, 40 RBIs and 57 runs. Pape led RCC with 14 steals on 16 attempts.
