The Riverland softball team closed out its regular season with a sweep over Fergus Falls by scores of 13-2 and 10-3.
The Blue Devils (29-8 overall, 23-1 MCAC) didn’t throw Autumn Jurgensen in either game as they rested her up for the state tournament, which begins next Thursday in St. Cloud.
“Today was a good chance for some of our starters to get some rest and get needed field time. Our ladies did a great job of situational hitting and very good baserunning,” RCC head coach Dan Swift said. “We had great reads on the ball and took bases when we could. Annie Breault did a great job of throwing strikes and our defense backed her up well.”
