The Austin boys golf team settled for second place as Winona edged them out by two strokes at Austin Country Club Monday.

The Packers finished with a team score of 335, while the Winhawks shot a 333 and Rochester Mayo shot a 341.

“It’s tough to lose by two strokes and any of the guys could’ve done two strokes better, but what can you do?” Austin head coach Will Pazurek said.

Nick Tabor was co-medalist with a score of 80 on a cold, windy day.

“It wasn’t a good day for golfing conditions and the wind and cold definitely had an effect on the scores,” Pazurek said.
