The Austin Greyhounds turned six double plays and scored three runs in the last two innings to win 8-7 in 10 innings at Cannon Falls Wednesday.

Austin first baseman Bryan Toov batted down a ball at first base, tagged the Cannon Falls runner who was on first and tagged the base to end the game in the bottom of the 10th.

“They’re a good team and it was a fun game,” Hounds manager John Frein said. “We erased a lot of their hits with those double plays and that was key.”

The Hounds (2-2 overall) took the lead for good in the top of the 10th when Matt Raso fought off a two-strike fast ball up the middle to score Frein.

The Hounds scored twice in the ninth when Raso doubled in a run and Bryan Toov knocked in a run with a single.

Raso picked up the win for the Hounds by going five and one-thirds innings without allowing a run.

The Hounds beat the defending Class ‘B’ state champions Shakopee on Tuesday night 12-3.

Austin scored in every inning but the eighth to pick up the win.
