Grehounds drop first two games of the season

The Austin Greyhounds opened their amateur baseball season with a pair of losses in Onalaska, Wis. Saturday.

The Hounds (0-2 overall) lost to Chaseburg/Coon Valley 11-6 and fell to Onalaska 6-1.

The Onalaska A’s mounted a two-run rally in the nightcap after Hounds pitcher John Kirby walked three straight hitters, and allowed a double and a home run.

“Those walks killed us and we couldn’t get our bats going,” Hounds manager John Frein said.

In the opener, Dan Zielke had two home runs for Austin.
