Summer is less than two months away, which means it’s almost time for festivals, parades, county fairs and Austin’s Summerset Theatre.

For 2010, Summerset is celebrating its 43rd season, and preparations are underway for three shows this year.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” runs June 13-19; “Doubt, a Parable,” runs July 7-10; and “The Hormel Girls” runs July 20-24.

“I’m very excited,” said Jerry Girton, who will be directing “Joseph” and “The Hormel Girls.”

Auditions for all shows wrapped up Monday at Riverland’s Frank W. Bridges Theatre.

St. Ansgar fourth grader Joshua Duncomb is hoping to land a role in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” His audition Monday included both singing and dancing.

“I did a little bit worse on the dancing and better on the singing,” he said.

The Summerset Theatre Box Office opens June 1 and is located at the Frank W. Bridges Theatre. For more information, call 433-0595.
