RCC softball team gets sweep to win sixth straight game

The Riverland softball team won its sixth straight game when it beat Anoka-Ramsey (2-19 overall, 2-6 MCAC South) 9-0 and 17-3 in Coon Rapids Tuesday.

Austin grad Autumn Jurgensen pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the first game and Thenedra Corey had a home run and six RBIs in the nightcap.

RCC (16-7 overall, 11-1 MCAC South) took the lead for good in the opener when Jessica Wilde had an RBI groundout in the first. The Blue Devils added six runs in the third, where Wilde added an RBI single.

RCC scored five runs in the first inning of the second game.
