Lyle/Pacelli softball team falls to Randolph in opener

The Lyle/Pacelli softball team opened its season with a 13-0 loss to Randolph in five innings in Todd Park Friday.

The Rockets (2-0 overall) scored five unearned runs in the first inning, were scoreless in the second and third and they scored five more runs in the fourth to ice the game.

“We kind of had the first game jitters early on,” L/P head coach Denny Bray said. “We settled down and played some good ball for a couple of innings but then they got to us again. We’ve got to come to the field more focused.”

The Athletics (0-1 overall) had three hits from three different players.
