James Carlson, 80, of Austin died Monday, April 12, 2010 at Prairie Manor in Blooming Prairie.
Jim was born March 29, 1930 in Moline, Ill. to Robert and Sarah (Winters) Carlson. In 1952 he married Sandra Dahmen in Bolan, Iowa. She preceded him in death on June 29, 1993. Jim was a retired employee of the Minnesota Department of Transportation having worked there for 32 years.
Survivors include his lady friend of many years, Bernie Krengel; sons, Steve and Brian in Arizona; daughters-in-law, Michelle Engelman, Iowa, LeAnn McCormick, Oregon; sister-in-law, Barb Carlson; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; brother, Larry (Dana) Carlson, California.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary; brother, Robert.
Interment will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Oakwood Cemetery followed by a gathering at the Mapleview Community Hall.
