Jack Worke

Jack “Junior” Worke, 88, of Rochester, died at Stewartville Care Center Tuesday evening, April 6, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. 
He was born Dec. 1, 1921 to Helmer and Agnes (Hagen) Worke. He farmed his whole life and worked for Jorde Builders. Jack married Ruby Eaker on March 15, 1941 and celebrated 69 years of marriage. A member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, he enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, bingo, card playing and just visiting about the good old times. 
Jack was a kind, loving, good hearted person.  He will be missed dearly by family and friends. God bless his memory forever.
Jack is survived by his wife, Ruby; sons, Richard (Jan) Worke, Larry Worke; son-in-law, Dean Mesenbring, all of Rochester; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Dolores) Worke of Albert Lea, Virgil (Eloris) Worke of Clarks Grove; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Blooming Prairie, Beverly (John) Standke of Owatonna; sister-in-law, Eleanor Worke of Owatonna; aunt, Verdell Distad of Owatonna; and many nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helmer and Agnes Worke; a daughter, Vickie Mesenbring; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner and Pastor Charles Leonard officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m., Friday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at First Lutheran Cemetery, Blooming Prairie.
