Dennis Brandsoy

Dennis Lee Brandsoy, 61, of Blaine, Minn. died Saturday morning at the Unity Hospital in Fridley, Minn.
Dennis was born Aug. 21, 1948 in Blue Earth, Minn., the son of Harold and Eleanor (Siglowski) Brandsoy. Dennis attended public school in Albert Lea and professional truck driving school. He was raised on a farm near Albert Lea and then spent most of his adult life in Farmington, Minn.
Dennis drove truck professionally for many years coast to coast. He later worked for the City of Savage. On weekends Dennis would haul mail for the US Postal Service.
He served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion.
Dennis loved to travel the country and see the sights. His farm background prompted his interest in collecting anything John Deere. He enjoyed working on cars and farm machinery. He was an avid fan of old western movies, especially John Wayne movies. His favorite pasttime was playing cards.
Dennis is survived by his siblings, Faye (Brent) Smith of Albert Lea, Minn., Dean Brandsoy of Austin, Janet (Bill Hadley) Anderson of Hickory, N.C., Randy (Dorene) Brandsoy of Canon City, Colo., Sharon (Mike) Tronstad of Hudson, Wis., Tim Brandsoy of San Diego, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Andy) Schlagel, Brandon Smith, Dena (Ryan) Carroll, Matthew (Carrie) Brandsoy, Leif (Amber) Anderson, Justin (fiancé Shelly)Brandsoy, Joshua Brandsoy, Seth (Enisa) Brandsoy, Tiffany Brandsoy, Stacey (Brad) Darsow, and Lindsey (Joel) Krech; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Doug Brandsoy; and sister-in-law, Sharon Brandsoy.
The family would like to thank the staff of Regency home health care “The Oaks” where he lived.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, Minn. Father James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery, Albert Lea.
