The Riverland softball team swept a doubleheader at St. Cloud Technical College by winning the first game 4-2 and the second game 17-0 in five innings in St. Cloud Tuesday.

RCC (10-7 overall) broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh inning when Elizabeth Triplett knocked in two runs with a two out triple. Autumn Jurgensen, who allowed just four hits, shut down SCTC in the bottom of the seventh to get the win.

“We just couldn’t put together a run of hits in this game,” RCC head coach Dan Swift said. “We hit balls right at them for outs, we had some poor bunt placement and some misreads on the bases. We played well enough to get through this game.”
