Blanche Trotman

Blanche Trotman, 91, of Blooming Prairie, died at Prairie Manor Care Center on Friday, April 16, 2010.
Blanche L. Seykora was born Nov. 9, 1918 in Steele County to Sigismund and Mary (Pribyl) Seykora. She attended country school and grew up in the Litomysl area. On Sept. 23, 1941, Blanche married Thomas James “Jim” Trotman at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Litomysl. She worked as a homemaker and helped out on the family farm. She also worked for the founder of Federated Insurance as a housekeeper. Blanche liked to play cards, go dancing, and make ceramics. She also liked cooking and embroidery. She loved being outdoors, mowing the lawn, and gardening, especially growing flowers. She was a member of the Bixby Westside Homemakers Club (Steele County Extension) and a member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie.
Blanche is survived by Thomas (Elaine) Trotman, James E. (Jacquelyn) Trotman, Timothy J.(Amy) Trotman, Terrance (Kim) Trotman, all of Blooming Prairie; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Kubicek of Blooming Prairie, Jeanette (Tom) Roofe, Margaret (Tom) Brazil, all of Bullhead City, Ariz., Rita Stilwell of Owatonna, Monica (Keith) Indykiewicz of Rochester; brothers, Henry (Ginny) Seykora of Claremont, Albert (Eunice) Seykora of Owatonna, Benjamin (Nancy) Seykora of Tehachopi, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Deloris Seykora of Owatonna, Ruth Seykora of Morristown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; grandson, Grant; great-granddaughter, Arianna; three brothers, Meinard Seykora, Joseph Seykora, Jerome Seykora; sister-in-law, Rosanna Seykora.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Interment will be in St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 and at the church one hour prior to the service. The ladies’ rosary service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to St. Isadore’s School in Litomysl or to the donor’s choice.
