Arnold Edward Sletten, 78, of Austin and formerly of Brownsdale, Minn., died April 4, 2010 at his home in Austin. 
Arnold was born on Nov. 26, 1931, the son of Albert and Alma (Nelson) in Kiester, Minn. He worked as a hired hand on a farm in Alden, Minn. He joined the Army and served in the Korean War. After the service he returned home and again worked as a hired hand. Arnold married Elaine Olsen in 1955. He worked as a butter maker for 15 years, then for Freeborn Co-op as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, playing horseshoes and watching ball games.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Elaine Sletten of Austin; children, Joyce (Dennis) McFadden of Flower Mound, Texas, Tim (Nancy) Sletten of Owatonna, Minn., Wayne (Keri) Sletten of Waseca, Minn., Sandra (Mike) Brooks of Owatonna, Minn., Carolyn (Jim) Riles of St. Michael, Minn., Marsha (Ky) Colburn of Fredericksburg, Va., Kelly (Jason) Lund of Madison, Minn., Susan (Andrew) McCoy of Rose Creek, Minn., Patricia Olson of Austin; sister, Helen Ravielle of Chatfield, Minn.; brother, Ken (Iva) Sletten of Clarks Grove, Minn.; 22 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Violet; brothers, Donald, Earl, Henry and Richard.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St., Brownsdale, with the Rev. Jeffery Sage officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Brownsdale. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2010, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 302 Market St., Brownsdale, and one hour before at the church on Friday.
