Wolverines knock off BP boys

The Blooming Prairie boys basketball team saw its season come to an end after a 57-56 overtime loss to Glenville/Emmons in the Subsection 1A West quarterfinals in BP Thursday.
The fourth-seeded Awesome Blossoms (8-15 overall) had shots to win the game at the end of regulation and overtime, but couldn’t close it out. G/E tied it up with three seconds left in regulation and the fifth-seeded Wolverines (18-6 overall) took the lead for good in OT when Peter Hansen knocked down two free throws with eight seconds left.
BP had taken the lead on a score by Robert Hofius with 15 seconds left in the game.
“It was really one of those games where it’s just too bad somebody had to lose,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “It was an intense atmosphere and a good playoff game.”
BP led by six a the break.
G/E will play in the subsection semifinals in Rochester Civic Auditorium Monday at 6:30 p.m.
