Schools, organizations prepare Taste of Nations

Vietnamese food, Cuban music and Scandinavian dancing number among offerings at this weekend’s “Taste of Nations.”
The free festival takes place at Oak Park Mall, 1301 18th Ave. NW, on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
Entertainment, food and information will be available to introduce the variety of cultures present in Austin and Mower County.
On the entertainment side, there will be Cuban music, Mexican, Scandinavian and African dancers, and Czech, German, Chinese and Korean displays by individuals and foreign exchange students.
Free food will include tastes of Iraqi, Honduran, Brazilian, Chilean, Guatemalan, Philippine, Vietnamese, Mexican and American cuisine.
Information tables will also be available from the Austin Human Rights Commission, Rochester’s International Mutual Assistance Association Riverland Community College, the Welcome Center, U. S. military services and the U.S. Census Bureau.
Riverland Community College, Catholic Charities, Porter Language Services and Austin Public Schools are sponsoring the Taste of Nations.
