The Riverland baseball team beat Alfred State of New York 7-1 and beat Cumberland Community College of New Jersey 13-3 in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Thursday.

“We’re very happy to be six and two against this kind of competition,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “We’re not playing flawless but we’re learning.”

The Blue Devils (6-2 overall) got a solo homer from Kyal Williams in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead against Alfred State, but the game was tied at one going into the sixth inning.
