Lynn Hanson

Lynn Allen Hanson, age 58, of Rollingstone, Minn., died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at his home.
Lynn was born May 27, 1951, in Austin, Minn. to Erling and Harriet (Jacobson) Hanson.  He graduated from Austin High School in 1969 and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975 as a flight mechanic and was stationed in Maryland.  Lynn attended Albert Lea Technical College in 1976 and graduated in 1978.  He was employed at RTP, Winona as an electrician in April 1978 and retired April 2009 due to his illness.
 On Aug. 28, 1975, he married Rose Rauen and they later divorced.  He married Mary C. Cummings on Feb. 16, 2007 in Negril, Jamaica, after a 20 year relationship.
 He was a member of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry Journeyman-A Electrician, Westfield Golf Club, USBC Bowling Association, and the Minnesota Golf Association.  Lynn loved and excelled in all sports.  He played softball, an avid hunter and fisherman, and in the summer he was always found golfing at Westfield or enjoying his camper up north.
Lynn fought a two year courageous battle with cancer with his diagnosis in February 2008.  He died at home with his loving family at his side.
He is survived by his wife: Mary C. Cummings, Rollingstone, Minn.; son: Eric Hanson, Rochester, Minn.; daughter Laura: (Tom Youngberg) Hanson, Mora, Minn.; two brothers:  Craig and Steve Hanson, Sheridan, Wyo.; sister: Julie (Glenn) Davis, Hayward, Calif.; two step-daughters: Melissa (Blaine Wenger) Petschow, Cochrane, Wis. and Danielle (Steven) Coey, Cochrane, Wis.; five grandchildren: who loved their Papa:  Quintin, Aidan, Ethan, Maven, and Rayna.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son Shane Petschow.
 Services to remember Lynn will be 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona with Pastor Tom Schoen, officiating.  Military burial honors will be provided by the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post 9, Winona, following the service.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 at the funeral home.
