Country pop sensation Taylor Swift is going brunette next weekend, and she’s headed to Stewartville, Minn.

Teiler Miller hopes to channel all that is Miss Swift — except the long blonde curls — on Friday, April 9 during the “Vegas Style Dinner Show” at Stewartville’s Riverview Greens Country Club.

Miller, an Austin High School sophomore, is one of at least four area vocalists performing at the show.

“I think it’s going to be really fun. I love singing, and Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists,” she said.

Miller will share the stage with AHS classmate Dylan Kaercher, and area vocalists Matthew Deters and Amanda Corey.

An audience will dine on steak dinners before the four present solo, duet and ensemble acts portraying Swift, Elvis Presley, Keith Urban, Sugarland, Patsy Cline, Etta James and Sam Cook.

“We’ve done these shows many times, but this is the first time that we are really bringing the youth in and involving performers from the Austin’s Got Talent show,” said producer Denny Charnecki.

Miller, Kaercher and Corey all performed at the first annual talent contest in October, and Deters, the brother of Corey, was invited to perform at the dinner show by his sister.

“These kids, their careers can really blossom from this,” Charnecki said.

Miller has performed in a variety of talent shows, mall concerts and at Pro Bowl festivities in Hawaii.

“I started singing at about age 3 on my dad’s mic in the basement. I probably did my first talent show at age 7,” Miller, who aspires to be a professional singer and/or work in dentistry, said.

Kaercher has a part-time job performing singing telegrams and hopes to one day become a full-time performing artist.

“It’s going to be fun to portray Elvis next week,” he said. “I love singing. I love theater — I just enjoy performing.”

Brother and sister duo, Deters and Corey, will take the stage for solo acts Friday and sing a Lady Antebellum song together. The two grew up with music, singing in the church where their father played the drums.

“It’s a hobby right now,” Corey said. “Wherever it leads me is great.”

Contestants from Austin’s Got Talent are welcome to sign up to join the show by calling Charnecki at 437-6968 before Friday.

Tickets to the dinner and show are $25 and are available by calling 533-9393 and at the box office. Tickets are $10 without dinner.
