The LeRoy/Ostrander boys basketball team rallied from a 15-point defieciet to beat Grand Meadow 47-45 in the first round of the Subsection 1A East tournament Tuesday in GM.

The No. 9 seeded Cardinals (4-21 overall) got big free throws from Dylan Mackey and Kirk Nelson down the stretch to put it away.

“It was good to get a win against our rivals in the playoffs and the boys celebrated like they’d just won the state tournament,” L/O head coach Jason Jude said.

Head coach Chad Burmester said the No. 8 seeded Superlarks (9-16 overall) had troubles in the second half.

“I just didn’t do a good enough job of getting our guys to understand that we wanted to keep attacking but we also wanted to get lay-ups and wide open shots if it was going to be a jump shot,” GM head coach Chad Burmester said.
