Harland Hussey

Harland Hugh Hussey, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at Grand Meadow Nursing Home in Grand Meadow.
Harland was born on Jan. 31, 1920 in Rock Island, Ill. He served in the United States Army as a private in World War II. He also worked for 36 years as a groundman patrolman at the Rock Island, Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company.
He married June Lorraine Taylor on Dec. 14, 1949. They shared 59 years of marriage.
Harland loved baseball. Watching the Minnesota Twins play baseball was his favorite thing to do.
Survivors include Wayne (DeAnne) Plotts and Hunter (Gunner) Guyette; nephews, Adam and Garett Plotts of Austin; nieces, Teran Aberg and Doreen Newkirk of Austin; Ron and Dana Potthoff, Katie Potthoff of Sterling, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Samuel Hussey and Diana (Stow) Hussey; his wife, June L. Hussey; 12 brothers and sisters; and nephew, Gary Dean Plotts.
Harland was cremated and laid to rest next to his wife at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
He was loved and will be missed.
