Eleanor Glynn

Eleanor Glynn, 94, of Austin, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin.
Eleanor Violet Kathleen Glynn, daughter of the late John and Anna (Rasmussen) Christensen, was born on Dec. 4, 1915 in Lakefield, Minn. Eleanor was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield. She graduated from Lakefield High School in 1933, and later from Kahler Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. in 1935.
On Sept. 24, 1939 Eleanor was united in marriage to Wesley Glynn at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield. She pursued her career in nursing for many years at St. Olaf Hospital Until 1976.
She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin and a member and volunteer for the Mower County Red Cross and Mower County Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; parents; sisters, Mildred Burmeister, Ethel Rasmussen, Harriet Graham, and Maude Kilen; and brother, Clyde Christensen.
Eleanor is survived by her sons, Greg Glynn, Burnsville, Minn., John (Kathleen) Glynn, Ellendale, Minn.; grandson, Brendan (Judy) Glynn, Miami, Fla.; great-grandson, Aidan Glynn; sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joan Cheney and Deb Mischke.
Memorial Services will be held in April.
Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangments.
