Delores Wheeler

Delores Wheeler, 90, of LeRoy died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Grand Meadow Health Care Center where she had resided since December of 2008.
Ruth Delores Kinter was born May 5, 1919 in Wayne Twp., Mitchell Co., Iowa to William and Barbara (Staley) Kinter. She attended country school through the eighth grade and was united in marriage to Clyde Wheeler on Dec. 6, 1936 at the Baptist Parsonage in Riceville, Iowa. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the McIntire, Iowa area until 1969 when they moved to Riceville, Iowa. After moving into Riceville, Delores worked for the school as a bus driver for the special education children and also worked in the school lunch room. In 1997, her husband Clyde passed away and in 2003 she moved into Wildwood Grove in LeRoy, Minn.
She is survived by three sons, Dean (Reatha) Wheeler of Delaven, Ill., Harlo (Marilyn) Wheeler of LeRoy, Minn. and Loren (Audrey) Wheeler of Byron, Minn.; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Everett (Marlene Davis) Kinter of Rochester, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandson, Josh Wheeler; and three brothers, Clayton, Leo and Dale.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Neal Solomonson officiating. Burial will be in the Wayne Cemetery McIntire, Iowa. Friends may call from 5 to7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
