Dale Peterson

Dale G. Peterson, 75, of Blooming Prairie, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. 
He was born March 17, 1935 in Blooming Prairie, Minn. to Charles and Effie Peterson. He attended Blooming Prairie High School and farmed his whole life. Dale married Marlys Asper on Dec. 28, 1957. He was a member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church and served as Sunday school teacher, Red Oak Grove Cemetery board member, Church board member and Council president. Dale served for 22 years as Board President for Prairie Manor Nursing Home, was a Lions Club member and served on the board of directors for Blooming Prairie Farmers Coop Elevator. He loved farming the land and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed his collection of antique international tractors, visiting, golfing, playing cards, reading and telling stories.
Dale will be remembered for his love of family, his overpowering hand shake, arm wrestling and straight crop rows. A good-hearted person, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. God bless his memory.
Dale is survived by his wife, Marlys, Blooming Prairie; daughters and son, Julie (John) Cashman, Eagan, Jill (Alan) Srock, Faribault, Janell Steinwand, Lakeville, Jay (Cathy) Peterson, Blooming Prairie, Joy (John) Kelly, Jacksonville, Fla., Joni (Jim) Noaeill, Rochester; 11 grandchildren, Brandon and Paige Cashman, Braden and Danielle Srock, Blaire and Blake Seeinwand, Dayton, Rachel, Hannah Peterson, Madison and Mason Noaeill; sisters, Muriel Dahl, Austin, Bertha (Paul) Everson, Austin, Virginia (George) Davis, Clarks Grove; many nieces and nephews. 
Dale was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Effie Peterson; sister, Esther Peters; brother, Donald Peterson; infant sister and brother, Phyllis and Spencer.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church with Pastor Gene Leiter officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Red Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Blooming Prairie. 
Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
