Bernadine Peterson

Bernadine Lillian Peterson, 87, of Blooming Prairie, died at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester on March 7, 2010.  
She was born Feb. 16, 1923 to Peter and Olga (Jasperson) Kubicek in Blooming Prairie, Minn., where she grew up and attended school. She married Arlen Peterson on Oct. 1, 1943 in Owatonna. Bernadine and Arlen made their home in Blooming Prairie and raised four children. An active member of First Lutheran church, she enjoyed her volunteer work at church, circle, reading, gardening, children and grandchildren. Arlen passed away in 1984.
Survivors include four children, Carol (David) Cole of Excelsior, Jean (Daniel) Gabriel of Blooming Prairie, Marlys Jurrens of Owatonna, Barbara (Robert) Warren of Fountain; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Brooks of Owatonna, Ora Kubicek of Owatonna; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Peterson of Blooming Prairie, Julie Peterson of  Blooming Prairie, Lois Peterson of Albert Lea, Harriet (Dwaine) Lehman of Whitehouse, Ohio; brother-in-law, Earl Huberg of Owatonna. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlen Peterson; two sisters; and one brother.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Charles Leonard officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at First Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service. Interment is at First Lutheran Cemetery, Blooming Prairie.
